The Administration Assistant provides general administrative support to the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Unit team, primarily supporting the Executive Administration Officer in maintaining the smooth operation of the Unit. They also provide project support on an ad-hoc basis to other teams in the unit such as Partnerships & Engagement and UTS Start-ups. The role will occasionally require work outside of typical working hours dependent on scheduled events.

About the Unit

The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Unit leads the development and implementation of strategic priorities as set out by the DVC Innovation & Enterprise. The Administrative Assistant will be part of a team of around 15FTE staff members. With responsibility for supporting and scaling the vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem at UTS, including degree-bearing pathways, such as the Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation, the MBA-e and other individual subjects, as well as for developing and scaling co-curricular offerings, such as the new UTS Startups program, industry networking events, hackathons and more.

About the Role

The Administration Assistant will work under general direction within their area of accountability. The incumbent in this role will be expected to display reasonable independence, initiative and problem-solving skills with guidance from the Executive Administration Officer. The main duties of this role are listed below:

  • High level administration support
  • Assist with the delivery of projects, events and initiatives related to the delivery of organisational and program objectives
  • Assist with management of executive staff diary arrangements
  • Managing executive staff and shared resource calendars for the Unit
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support, including ordering and monitoring stationery supplies, workshop materials, and liaising with other administrative support staff across the University

Base Salary Range: $62,828 to $67,202 pa (HEW 4)

This role attracts 9.5% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
